Role Summary

Free People is seeking a Summer Design Intern for their We The Free apparel design teams.  Our We The Free collection is an in-house, heritage inspired collection of timeless staples – everything from your favorite jean to handcrafted leather goods. Untraditionally classic, rooted in menswear, vintage, and rock ‘n roll. The Summer Design Intern would assist the design team in the creative and operational processes of monthly apparel collections. 

 

About the Summer Internship Program:

 

Each summer URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within various teams across our portfolio of brands and gain hands-on learning experience in the area of business which they choose to pursue. The URBN 2025 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/2 through 8/8 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.  

 

Summer Internship Program Application Process:

    

  1. Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills.  If there is a project component required for the design internship position you are applying for, you will be notified directly by 11/8. If requested to complete a project, it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position. 

  

  1. Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.   

  

  1. Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.    

  

Applications will close at 5:00pm EST on November 4th 2024. 

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Drape, pattern, and sew 3D mocks for design presentations.
  • Create technical sketches in Procreate for tech packs.
  • Support team in creating digital CADs for design presentations.
  • Attend technical setups and fittings.
  • Execute administrative tasks for the design team as needed including but not limited to filing, organizing, and transporting submits and samples.

Role Qualifications

  • You are innovative, inventive, artistic & detail oriented. 
  • Fashion Design skills from a current school program.
  • Creativity and a positive attitude!
  • A willingness to learn and try new things.
