Role Summary

Anthropologie Living is looking for a Senior Designer of Research and Development. The senior designer will be the creative force behind our next generation of home textiles. They'll spearhead the entire product development journey, from identifying emerging trends and consumer needs to crafting innovative concepts, crafting technical specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring your vision to life. They'll be instrumental in ensuring our products are not only aesthetically pleasing but also user-friendly, cost-conscious, and manufacturable.

Role Responsibilities

  • Inspired by the concept team, research and develop new ideas, materials and techniques with the production team and vendor base for each season.
  • Curates developed materials, techniques, and samples for presentation to design team for sketch reviews and seasonal milestones.
  • Give guidance on materials, techniques and suggestions on factories for the design team.
  • Support the design team with technical details of putting the products into work and review briefs as needed.
  • Support the design team with sketching and technical renderings of 3D shapes to ensure they execute as desired.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design or similar field is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a product designer, with a focus on home accessories or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing innovative products to market.
  • Strong understanding of materials, techniques, and construction methods.
  • Excellent sketching and technical drawing skills
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience with prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, clay modeling).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating beautiful and functional products.
