Role Summary

Free People is looking for a Campaign Manager & Content Lead. The Creative Marketing Lead will predominantly support the Creative Marketing Director in owning the creative marketing vision and production of brand, category, and product from concept to completion. The candidate must be an expert in the power of emotion, understanding the differences in advertising platforms and mediums, and finding the ability to craft bespoke content strategies that effectively create and communicate brand stories back to the assortment while incorporating a business mindset.

 

They must creatively demonstrate, conceive, and develop innovative and out-of-the-box solutions that will drive and elevate the brand to a new level. They will be responsible for pitching integrative large and small-scale campaigns across a seasonal and monthly cadence, expanding, and refining creative capabilities to push the boundaries of the brand’s creative expression for new customer and brand acquisition and recognizability.

 

Additionally, they should be able to encourage effective and productive communication that promotes creative collaboration, input with the ability to streamline workflow that ultimately lead to cohesive brand vision and goals across cross-functional teams – serve as an excellent and clear communicator who is able to work cross- functionally and collaboratively, but also capable of handling projects independently and have a strong sense of time management, marketing strategy, and organization. The candidate should have strong knowledge of current events across the creative sphere (fashion, film, food, arts, etc.) and fashion trends, as well as competitive insight into luxury and mid-level brands in retail.

Role Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Creative Marketing Director to lead creative vision across brand, category, and product ideation from concept to completion.
  • Manage and oversee concept development, planning, budgeting and execution across quarterly brand and category campaigns, as well as co-op and partner collaborations.
  • Begin ideation with a balance of strategy, consumer insight, cultural relevance, channel learnings, and creativity. Find new opportunities to build meaningful concepts that extend far beyond the product itself including but not limited to experiences, guerilla marketing, OOH etc.
  • Partner with brand and creative marketing team to ensure management and cross-functional visibility across the production calendar encompassing: art direction, product assortment, styling direction, cross-functional review and planning, shoot, editing, and leadership review and approvals.
  • In partnership with creative marketing team, own all distribution of project execution across total channels.
  • Maintain excellent writing and language skills, can write effective and creative copy as needed.
  • Report on creative content performance and share meaningful learnings.
  • Explore promising ideas, original and out of the box storytelling, the latest and greatest in genres, style and applications, participate in workshops and seminars (virtually or IRL), lead brainstorm and inspiration sessions, network with developing up and coming creative agencies and mixed industries, etc to find ways to stimulate new creative development into output
  • Be present and an active participant in the brainstorm/inspiration sessions with cross-functional creative marketing, social and editorial partners to nurture creative collaboration and further excitement in project and content development.
  • Lead monthly brainstorm/inspiration sessions with cross-functional brand & co-op partners to understand cultural relevance, brand and marketing and advertising landscape, brand competition and development to further challenge creative thinking.
  • Build internal partnerships, serving as a key partner to cross-functional partners to understand business objectives, messaging, and audiences.
  • Manage budget and creative expenses in the tracker.

Role Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Possesses knowledge and experience in marketing, and knows how to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion through creative strategy and effective storytelling.
  • Possesses great understanding and balance of the creative side of marketing to the analytical side and can demonstrate how the two intersect.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, creative content performance, and how to cater deliverables back to their respective channels appropriately.
  • Displays the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas and can collaborate with a wide range of team personalities and is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other members when necessary.

  • Brand Development – Advertising, creative marketing, digital strategy, graphic design, 360 marketing campaigns
  • Techniques – Creative direction, concept development, project management and brand identity

Tools & Application

  • A minimum education level of BA/BS 4-year degree (Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, Graphic Design, Design, or
  • Merchandising preferred)
