Anthropologie is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Buying Operations Inbound Analyst to join our
Corporate Home Office Operations team. This role owns end-to-end tracking and reconciliation of purchase order receipts, monitors and resolves delivery risks and exceptions – including delays at origin, port disruptions, and upholding distribution center standards while escalating any concerns to leadership as needed. The role also serves as the key liaison to Marketing, Merchandising, and Buying, flagging styles at risk of shipping late that are featured in upcoming marketing email campaigns. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who thrives on process, cross-functional coordination, and problem-solving in a fast-paced retail environment.
Delivery Risk & Exception Management – Manage the full inbound PO pipeline, maintaining high-level visibility into risks across all open orders and documenting current events that may impact receipt timing.
– Partner with logistics and sourcing teams to understand root causes of delays at origin for POs being
imported into the U.S. and translate that visibility into updated receipt timing expectations for
downstream teams.
– Bubble up any concerns with late deliveries to leadership in a timely manner, providing context on cause and expected impact to support quick decision-making.
– Monitor and drive resolution of POs that fall outside standard SLA windows, partnering with
distribution centers and carriers to get freight processed into inventory and closing the gap between
physical delivery and system receipt.
Purchase Order & Receipt Management
– Own and manage the end-to-end tracking of inbound receipts,
monitoring incoming inventory against expected PO delivery windows and maintaining accurate, up-to-date
receipt records across relevant systems.
– Reconcile receipt discrepancies (short shipments, delays, quantity or style mismatches) and partner with
vendors, distribution centers, and buying/planning teams to resolve issues quickly.
– Maintain reporting and status logs that give stakeholders real-time visibility into PO receipt progress
and potential risk points.
Late Style Communication
– Monitor PO receipt status against the marketing email calendar to identify
styles featured in upcoming marketing email messages that are at risk of arriving late.
– Proactively communicate late or at-risk styles to marketing, creative, and email teams with enough lead
time to adjust campaign content, imagery, or send dates.
– Serve as the key liaison between Marketing, Merchandising, and Buying on receipt timing, providing
regular updates and escalating urgent risks as needed.
– Review late receipts and track buyer priorities at a divisional level to help determine which at-risk styles
matter most to flag and resolve first. – Help Marketing secure target order dates for social media influencers so featured products can be
ordered in time to support campaign timelines.
