Role Summary

This internship provides emerging supply chain leaders with a dynamic learning platform to gain firsthand, hands-on experience in a fast-paced fulfillment environment. Sitting directly on the warehouse floor, the intern will work alongside site leadership to learn daily operational leadership across E-commerce, Wholesale, and Retail replenishment fulfillment processes. This role is designed for a goal-oriented candidate who thrives on solving problems, setting priorities, and motivating floor teams in a production-focused environment. Interns who successfully complete the program will be considered for full-time roles upon graduation.

The URBN 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/7 through 8/13.

Summer Internship Program Application Process:
 

1) Apply to one (1) internship posting that best aligns with your interests and skills. If there is a project component included in the application (see role qualifications below), it is required and must be submitted at the time of application to be considered for the position.

 

2) Complete a Video Interview: Candidates selected to move forward will receive an email with a link to complete a video interview. Once the email is received, candidates will have two (2) days to complete this portion of the application.

 

3) Interviews with our internal teams will be scheduled on a rolling basis.

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Workflow Coordination: Help coordinate day-to-day work activities across departments to optimize throughput, enhance workflow, and achieve operational objectives.
  • Issue Resolution: Actively identify floor bottlenecks, anticipate problems, and expedite real-time operational solutions in a fast-paced setting.
  • Tool & Safety Provision: Ensure floor associates have the required tools, proper training, and support to meet safety, quality, and operational standards.

 

Quality Control, Cost Management & Analytics

  • Quality & Accuracy Inspection: Inspect work accuracy and output quality on the floor to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • KPI Tracking: Assist in tracking, analyzing, recording, and reporting departmental production metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Support cost control within the distribution & fulfillment centers by helping monitor daily labor utilization and supply costs.
  • Performance Reviews: Assist Operations Managers with analyzing and reviewing trends for performance and attendance data.

 

Team Leadership & Safety Culture

  • Housekeeping & Safety: Promote and uphold high standards for facility safety, ergonomics, and housekeeping.
  • Cross-Training & Development: Participate in cross-training employees across multiple departments to build depth and flexibility across the warehouse floor.
  • Positive Culture: Cultivate a positive, inclusive work environment by fostering team ownership, accountability, and strong workplace relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with cross-functional teams and facility management to resolve operational issues impacting overall performance.

 

 

Role Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a college degree with a professional interest in Supply Chain Management
  • Operational Mindset: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work under minimal supervision, and adapt in a goal-driven environment.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support, motivate, and mentor team members.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch throughout shifts on the warehouse floor.
  • Lifting & Handling: Ability to reach, push, pull, and lift freight or materials of various shapes and sizes up to 50 pounds.
  • Equipment Operation: Willingness and physical coordination to safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, cherry pickers, or box cutters) as needed.
  • Work Environment: Active warehouse environment with moderate noise levels across all weather conditions.

This internship will take place at our KC3 Fulfillment Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
