URBN is looking for a Wash Specialist to lead global wash innovation, technical wash development, and wash process optimization
across brands and product categories. Serve as the central expert and benchmark for
garment washing, dyeing, finishing, laundries, and wash technologies while partnering with
Design, Product Development, Production, Fabric, and Vendor teams globally. This role
involves seasonal curation of on-trend wash projects to educate and inspire the brands.
Research and introduce new wash techniques, chemicals, machinery, and sustainable
laundry technologies.
Keep brand and cross-functional teams updated on global wash trends and innovation.
Evaluate and tier global wash houses based on capability, sustainability, innovation,
quality, and cost competitiveness.
Benchmark wash costs globally across India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam,
Turkey, and Central America.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to PD, Production, Fabric teams, and
vendors.
Drive wash innovation into core programs to improve aesthetics, sustainability, quality,
and margin.
Partner with Fabric and PD teams on seasonal wash presentations aligned with market
and brand concepts.
Support sustainability initiatives aligned with ZDHC, OEKO-TEX, and low-impact
processing.
12–18+ years in garment washing, laundries, denim, knit processing, or textile wet
processing.Strong knowledge of garment dyeing, enzymes, bleach systems, softeners, pigment
washes, abrasion techniques, and fleece processing.
Hands-on experience with laundry machinery including Tonello, Jeanologia, ozone,
laser, and E-flow systems.
Strong vendor management and global sourcing experience.
Experience working with global brands, laundries, or major chemical suppliers
preferred.
Strong commercial awareness combined with technical problem-solving capability.
