Role Summary

URBN is looking for a Director, Regional Sourcing & Production based in Vietnam. The Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all regional sourcing, production, and supply chain management for URBN apparel and Home Categories.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Operations:

  • Implement regional sourcing plans that align with global targets for cost, product needs, quality, and speed-to-market.
  • Manage and optimize the existing regional vendor base and identify and onboard potential new partners to fill specific supply chain gaps.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors for competitive pricing, quality and delivery timelines.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for supplier/factory partners, conducting quarterly performance reviews and driving corrective action plans.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with regional suppliers and factories.
  • Oversee regional raw material procurement and manufacturing processes.

Production oversight & Delivery Management:

  • Own the WIP (Work-In-Progress) and pre-production calendars to ensure 100% on-time delivery, quality and competitive advantage from concept to warehouse.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the production flow and apply LEAN principles to reduce lead times and minimize waste throughout.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize supply chain efficiencies across all regional operations.
  • Proactively monitor daily production status to identify delays early and stay ahead of the curve; develop and execute Surety of Supply options for manufacturing and shipping, addressing geopolitical hurdles.

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Sourcing Managers and Production Coordinators.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, entrepreneurial thinking, and agile execution within the regional team.
  • Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless execution while maintaining the product integrity and aesthetic standards.

Compliance & Sustainability:

  • Ensure strict adherence to ethical sourcing practices, regulatory compliance, and company sustainability standards throughout the regional supply chain.
  • Drive initiatives to incorporate sustainable practices and materials into production processes.
  • Develop and maintain robust risk-management plans, including alternative sourcing strategies for geopolitical or supply-chain disruptions.

Financial management:

  • Manage the regional departmental budget and financial planning activities related to sourcing and production. Implement cost-saving initiatives targeting raw materials, FOB and landed costs.
  • Analyze and validate cost breakdowns, proactively communicating and implementing cost-saving plans.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Apparel Merchandising, Business Administration or a relative field.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in apparel sourcing and production, with a proven record in a senior management or Director role.
  • Proven experience in risk management and developing proactive contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies and production plans that drive results.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, fabric lead times, technological advancements, ethical sourcing, sustainability and duties/tariffs.
  • Extensive experience in managing international vendor networks and navigating regional sourcing hubs.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP systems, PLM systems, and data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Tableau).
