Role Summary

URBN is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Supply Chain Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Global Supply Chain Transportation team’s efforts by providing sound analytics and financial schedules, while measuring and tracking ongoing operations and new initiatives. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance, support business decision-making, and ensure compliance with financial controls and policies. 

Role Responsibilities

Monthly:

  • Partner with operational business partners to report on prior month expenses and project future month expenses pertaining to North America’s Transportation network.
  • Complete variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior year and trended results to provide appropriate operational and financial explanations.
  • Support Supply Chain Accounting team with accruals and expense reclasses as needed.

Weekly:

  • Create weekly transportation barometers and provide to Transportation Operators to support the business hitting monthly budget targets.
  • Monitor transportation KPI’s to support financial variance reporting.
  • Assist in the maintenance, creation and distribution of financial reporting and analyses generated by the company’s freight audit and payment provider.

Budget:

  • Support the annual budget process through data compilation and summarization to be used in the calculation of Transportation expenses for the following fiscal year.
  • Facilitate planning sessions with Operators and own the creation of data collection templates.

Cost Control, Efficiency and Operational Reporting:

  • Analyze cost/KPI trends across the transportation network to identify cost-saving opportunities or business risks.

Role Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance (Supply Chain, Operations Finance, or Distribution preferred).
  • Understanding of month-end close processes including accrual accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations a plus.
  • Proficient Excel skills required; experience with financial systems/ERPs and reporting tools a plus (e.g., Oracle EBS/Hyperion, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal); highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; critical thinker.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
