Role Summary

As a Senior Buyer of Textiles at Anthropologie, you are the ultimate curator. You will balance "gut-feeling" creativity with analytical rigor to build a product mix that is bold, commercially relevant, and emotionally resonant. In the Bedding, Bath, and Throws categories, you aren't just buying linens; you are defining the "sanctuary" of our customer’s home. You will lead the strategy for private label and market collections, ensuring our assortment remains a differentiated global destination.

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Visionary Assortment Strategy: Architect a brand-appropriate, balanced product mix. You’ll merge raw customer feedback with macro lifestyle trends to ensure our bedding and bath collections feel "ahead of the curve."

  •
  • Strategic Business Ownership: Proactively manage the Open-to-Buy (OTB). You will use data-driven insights to maximize the "hype" factor of key items while managing risk through smart reorders and markdown execution.

  • Product Innovation: Partner with in-house Design and Sourcing teams to bring a creative vision to life. Whether it’s a hand-embroidered quilt or a globally-sourced artisanal throw, you ensure the quality and "hand-feel" align with our premium brand standards.

  •
  • Vendor & Relationship Mastery: Build and negotiate with global suppliers to secure exclusivity and favorable terms. You represent the brand with integrity, attracting partners that align with Anthropologie’s artistic and ethical values.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and develop a high-performing team (Assistant/Associate Buyers). You’ll foster a culture of accountability, creative risk-taking, and professional growth.

Role Qualifications

What You’ll Need

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in a high-volume buying role. While experience in Home or Textiles is a plus, we value a proven track record of managing complex assortments in any design-led category.

  • The "Anthropologie Eye": A deep understanding of our target customer and the ability to translate micro-trends into "must-have" products.

  • Analytical Rigor: Comfort with the statistical components of the business—IMU%, GM%, sell-through, and WOS. You make decisions based on insights, not just intuition.

  • Creative Entrepreneurship: A proactive, "owner" mindset. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and are always looking for the next opportunity to grow the business.

  • Communication: Ability to clearly and confidently present seasonal strategies to senior leadership and collaborate across departments (Visual, Marketing, and Planning).
