Role Summary

Anthropologie is seeking a Sample Manager that will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the furniture sample storage building. This role is an essential part of the growing furniture business at Anthropologie, responsible for managing the flow of samples in and out of our Navy Yard headquarters. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Sample Inventory Management: tracking, organizing, and maintaining the inventory of all furniture and decor samples 
    • Track incoming samples and update necessary teams as needed, communicate with carriers to schedule deliveries and pickups
    • Receive in new samples, pulling and putting away samples to/from photo shoots (both on location and on campus), pulling and putting away samples for on campus reviews
    • Unbox and assemble new samples
    • Handle samples with care to avoid damages
    • Check samples in/out and ensure digital library system is updated, keep accurate records of sample locations
    • Maintain a clean and organized facility
    • Track sample damages and shrink percentage
  • Communication with cross functional partners (buying, production, studio, etc) 
    • Request and oversee labor work orders to complete tasks as needed
    • Support cross functional partners and their needs in regards to samples
  • Keep samples organized during upcoming transition/construction of campus buildings 

Role Qualifications

  • 3-5 years management experience, warehouse/inventory control
  • Ideal candidate is familiar with furniture, assembly and care
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs. (e.g. furniture, home decor items such as rugs, lighting, side tables)
  • Experience using a pallet jack, both standard and with electric lift
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in digital applications, email spreadsheets slideshows, and experience with inventory management systems
  • Logistics experience: knowledge of shipping and receiving
  • Time management: organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Organizational skills: strong attention to detail
  • Decision making: problem solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Flexibility as this role evolves
