Role Summary

Nuuly is looking for a Merchandise Planner who will maximize subscription revenue by creating a sound merchandise and assortment plan for rentals that minimizes risk, increases productivity, and supports nuuly’s goals for turn and in-stock. Partner cross-functionally to evaluate performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend data-driven actions. Serve as an emerging leader, demonstrating strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Decision-Making: Proficient in using planning tools and systems to support strategic decisions, analyze reporting, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Business Execution & Problem-Solving: Own and execute business recommendations through detailed analysis; apply analytical and problem-solving skills to inform day-to-day decisions.
  • Process & Ownership: Ensure class success by meeting key metrics, partner with the buying team for weekly evaluations, and interpret data science into profitable strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Build strong relationships with buying and planning teams, partner with cross-functional stakeholders and planning leadership, positively impact team processes through clear communication.
  • Leadership & Development: Demonstrate growing ownership and accountability within assigned areas of the business, coach and manage junior team member(s).

Role Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning in a retail environment, experience in start-up environment a plus.
  • Demonstrated success supporting category-level financial and inventory planning.
  • Proven leadership managing 1+ direct report(s), including coaching and development.
  • Experience managing Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) to support financial targets and inventory health.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong fluency in retail math concepts to support data‑driven planning and decision‑making.
  • Highly organized and detail‑focused, with the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
