Role Summary

Nuuly is looking for a Senior Inventory Planner. This position is a pivotal role designed to optimize the lifecycle value of our products. You will sit at the intersection of finance, demand planning, and logistics, responsible for maximizing revenue across both rental and resale channels. By leveraging predictive analytics and strategic rebalancing, you will ensure we have the right product, in the right place, at the right time. This role is a leadership position, requiring the ability to manage direct reports and influence senior-level decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Revenue Optimization

  • Demand Forecasting: Develop and refine high-accuracy demand models to predict inventory requirements for rental and resale segments.

  • Lifecycle Management: Create and execute exit strategies for obsolete or slow-moving stock to minimize liability and maximize recovery value.

  • OTB Management: Maintain and oversee the Open-to-Buy (OTB) process, ensuring procurement aligns with financial targets and warehouse capacity.

Operational Excellence & Problem Solving

  • Inventory Rebalancing: Lead reverse logistics strategies and stock transfers across distribution centers to maintain optimal fulfillment levels.

  • Analytical Deep-Dives: Utilize BigQuery, Looker, and Excel to identify trends, diagnose stock-outs, and recommend actionable business pivots.

  • Pricing Strategy: Design and maintain dynamic pricing models that respond to market demand and inventory age.

Leadership & Collaborative Influence

  • People Management: Directly manage and mentor at least one Inventory Analyst, fostering a culture of professional growth and high performance.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the primary liaison between Merchandising, Logistics, and Finance to ensure a unified approach to inventory health.

  • Executive Communication: Translate complex data sets into concise, high-impact presentations for senior leadership.

Role Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in Merchandise Planning, Allocation, or Store Planning (specifically 2+ years managing OTB and financial forecasting).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.

  • Technical Mastery: * Advanced Excel: (Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex modeling).

    • Data Environments: Proficiency in SQL/BigQuery and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar).

    • ERP Systems: Experience with Island Pacific or equivalent retail management software.

  • Mindset: A "start-up" mentality—comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced changes, and building processes from the ground up.
