Role Summary

URBN is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager of Compensation to join our team, primarily supporting our corporate functions as well as consulting on our field and supply chain organizations. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent, while aligning with our business objectives and market competitiveness. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in compensation practices, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills to partner effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compensation Program Management:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of compensation programs, including base pay, incentive plans, equity, executive compensation and other rewards.
  • Conduct thorough job analysis and evaluation to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Manage compensation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Oversee compensation management systems, third party tools and ensure data accuracy.
  • Drive compensation strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Market Research and Benchmarking:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and benchmarking to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs.
  • Utilize market data analysis to inform compensation decisions and recommendations.
  • Analyze survey data and market trends to ensure compensation practices remain current and effective.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and interpretation to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including data visualizations, to present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Utilize spreadsheet and database management tools for efficient data handling.
  • Ensure data accuracy and attention to detail in all analyses and reports.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with senior leadership, Finance, HR business partners, HRIS, and other stakeholders on compensation-related matters.
  • Communicate complex compensation concepts clearly and concisely through strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Build strong relationships and foster effective stakeholder communication.
  • Employ negotiation skills to achieve desired outcomes in compensation discussions.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
  • Ensure all compensation programs and practices comply with relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise ethical judgment in handling sensitive compensation information.
  • Support preparation of periodic filings, including annual proxy and other SEC filings
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and their potential impact on compensation.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving:
  • Apply critical and strategic thinking to solve complex compensation challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within compensation functions.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Abilty to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

Role Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in compensation, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Experience supporting a publicly traded company, preferably within the retail or fashion industry.
  • Deep experience with HRIS, preferrably UKG, strong analytical skills (including advanced Excel/Sheets and potentially SQL), and hands-on experience with compensation management software, preferrably PayCycle.
