Role Summary

Anthropologie is seeking an Associate Technical Designer to support the product development process by assisting in the creation, evaluation, and refinement of technical specifications to ensure product fit, quality, and construction standards. This role collaborates closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to bring product concepts to life while maintaining brand standards and production feasibility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of technical packages (tech packs), including detailed sketches, measurements, construction details, and BOMs.
  • Participate in fit sessions; take notes, provide feedback, and update specifications accordingly.
  • Measure samples and compare against specs to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Communicate with vendors and factories regarding sample corrections, construction issues, and fit adjustments.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and sample tracking systems.
  • Support Senior Technical Designers in managing timelines and sample approvals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product execution and quality standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in technical design.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and time management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors and understanding of production timelines.
  • Familiarity with 3D design tools (e.g., CLO, Browzwear) is a plus.
