Role Summary

URBN is hiring an experienced and strategic Operations Manager to take ownership of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system's stability, performance, and day-to-day operational effectiveness. This critical role ensures that our core business processes—including Finance, Supply Chain, and Merchandising—run flawlessly and efficiently through the ERP platform.

The Operations Manager serves as the primary liaison between our business users (retail and distribution operations) and the technical support and development teams. You will be responsible for managing system integrity, overseeing master data quality, leading routine maintenance, and driving operational excellence.

Role Responsibilities

  • System Stability & Uptime: Ensure the ERP system is consistently available, performs optimally, and meets all operational service level agreements (SLAs), especially during peak retail periods.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Lead the process for triaging, resolving, and performing root cause analysis (RCA) on critical production issues impacting inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and financial postings.
  • WMS and Core System Integration Management: Own the operational health and stability of the critical interfaces between the ERP system and major platforms, most importantly the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This includes proactively monitoring data flow integrity, addressing latency, and resolving integration failures that directly impact accurate inventory positioning and order fulfillment.
  • Business Liaison: Act as the voice of the business, translating operational needs and pain points into clear requirements for the IT support and development teams.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and report on key system performance metrics and operational efficiency KPIs.
  • System Maintenance & Incident Support: Manage and execute system maintenance, patches, and version upgrades, which frequently occur during scheduled non-business hours (nights and weekends) to minimize disruption to retail operations. Provide immediate, high priority technical support and escalation management for critical production incidents that impact business processes.

Role Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, product ownership or related roles, ideally associated with Retail Planning & Allocation Systems.
  • Extensive experience managing the operational lifecycle of a major ERP system (e.g., Island Pacific, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) preferably in a high-volume retail environment
  • Deep functional knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes within an ERP, including cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory valuation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing mission-critical integrations, specifically between an ERP and a WMS, and a clear understanding of how integration stability impacts inventory integrity and warehouse throughput
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams, distribution center managers, and business leaders.
