Role Summary

URBN is looking for a strategic and creative Merchandise Planning and Allocation Manager to lead our planning function for Reclectic. Reclectic is a new, unique retail experience from URBN, a global portfolio of lifestyle brands including Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters, and Nuuly. From treasure hunters to thrifters, everyone can find something they love at Reclectic. Reclectic gets new merchandise daily, catering to our customers who come to us for their favorite brands and the thrill of the hunt. Our customers are all about discovery, creativity, and possibility. We love the role we play in helping them express their unique personal style.

The Merchandise Planning and Allocation Manager will lead our planning function, driving sales growth and profitability for this new, unique, and expanding business for URBN. This role is essential in shaping inventory management strategies and business goals. You will collaborate cross-functionally with all URBN brands (Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters, and Nuuly), fulfillment centers, transportation partners, and Reclectic store teams to provide actionable plans, optimize inventory, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a merchandise planning process that support sales and inventory goals for the Reclectic channel.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for key inventory sources to drive greater volume (and recovery).
  • Analyze SKU-level (attribute) performance to enhance operational efficiency, guide allocation strategy, and support smarter assortment design.
  • Deliver clear and consistent weekly and monthly reporting to surface trends, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement innovative inventory management strategies.
  • Own the end-to-end inventory flow and allocation process for all close out inventory from URBN distribution centers and retail stores.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Transportation team, managing and submitting shipment requests for all Reclectic store shipments.
  • Partner with Store Operations for all shipment timing, volume, and product categories to Reclectic stores to ensure operational readiness.
  • Act as a strategic partner to URBN brand teams (Anthropologie, Free People, FP Movement, Nuuly, Terrain, and Urban Outfitters) to effectively plan for and manage inventory receipts.
  • Manage relationships with external partners for damaged and unsellable goods.

Role Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Allocation, or a related field.
  • Proven analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work well in teams and partner with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage complex and changing priorities.
  • A creative, results-driven mindset with the ability to "think outside the box" to challenge existing processes and drive innovation.
  • Previous experience with an off-price retail is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field is preferred.
