Role Summary

Free People is looking for a Temporary Motion & Graphics Designer. This person will work on a collaborative Creative Marketing team to create various creative assets to support the marketing and advertising space for Free People.
 
We are looking for someone who has strong communicative skills, thinks creatively, is detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines. They should also be able to thrive in a collaborative environment and possess strong problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills. They should take a customer-driven approach to creating marketing and advertising assets that are bespoke to the channels we target while staying true to the brand identity.
 
The ideal candidate must have strong design, layout, and animation skills; demonstrated experience with video and sound, and familiarity with social platforms. This designer will help grow the visual identity and voice for Free People by creating the right mix of animation, typography, images, illustration, and video.
 
This is a temporary assignment covering a maternity leave. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and elevate Free People's visual identity through compelling animation, typography, illustration, imagery, and video content. Integrate technical and creative solutions into cohesive design concepts that align with brand strategy and campaign goals.

  • Encode, convert, and edit video content while applying motion graphics effects and enhancements to optimize viewer engagement.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Graphic Design teams to produce high-impact animations and motion design assets.

  • Create platform-specific content for paid and organic campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring consistency in brand voice and aesthetics.

  • Stay current with trends in motion design, social media, and digital storytelling to continuously innovate and inspire

Role Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in Motion Graphic/Graphic Design/Animation
  • Experience creating content for paid and organic campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.

  • Skilled in motion design and traditional graphic design principles.

  • Expertise in video and audio editing, including post-production enhancements.

  • Solid grasp of advertising campaign strategy and execution.

  • Strong understanding of advertising and marketing trends within the fashion and retail industries.

  • Familiarity with platform specifications and creative guidelines for digital content production.

  • Comfortable using project management and collaboration tools such as Asana and Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.).
