Role Summary

URBN is looking for a Senior International Customs Compliance Coordinator, and in this role you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing global customs operations. This position ensures adherence to international trade regulations, oversees complex import/export activities, and supports strategic initiatives to enhance compliance and efficiency. The role requires strong analytical skills, regulatory expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international customs laws, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and admissibility.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Lead internal audits and support external customs investigations or inquiries.
  • Review and approve import/export documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee HTS classification processes and maintain classification databases.
  • Ensure proper documentation for special programs (e.g., CITES, FWS, duty drawback).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
  • Resolve escalated issues related to customs clearance delays, holds, or discrepancies.
  • Support strategic sourcing and logistics teams with compliance guidance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline customs processes and reduce duty exposure.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects related to trade compliance, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Develop and deliver training on customs compliance topics to internal stakeholders.
  • Generate and analyze compliance reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement areas.
  • Maintain metrics and KPIs related to customs performance and regulatory adherence.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in customs compliance preferred, international logistics, or trade operations.
  • Deep knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, and trade regulations.
  • Experience with customs software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Bamboo Rose).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
