This role focuses on optimizing supplier and carrier performance, guaranteeing on-time shipping, and driving product location visibility throughout the supply chain. The Sourcing Manager will collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure a seamless flow of goods that support business strategies, brand initiatives, and customer expectations.

Role Responsibilities

  • DDP Compliance & Execution

  • Partner with vendors, carriers, and customs brokers to minimize delays and mitigate risks related to compliance.
  • On-Time Shipping & Performance Management
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor transportation KPIs (on-time pickup, in-transit milestones, and delivery performance).
  • Proactively resolve exceptions or delays to protect shipping timelines.
  • Collaborate with production, sourcing, and distribution center teams to align transportation schedules with production timelines and seasonal calendar deadlines.
  • Product Location Visibility
  • Implement and manage tools that provide real-time product tracking from vendor to final destination.
  • Ensure visibility of all shipping milestones to internal stakeholders and escalate potential risks.
  • Analyze data to provide reporting and insights to leadership, supporting operational decision-making.
  • Operational Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate DDP partners and shipping modes (air, sea, truck, rail) to optimize speed-to-market, cost, and service.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities that reduce lead times and increase efficiency.
  • Lead projects focused on digital tracking, automation, and system enhancements for logistics transparency.
  • DDP Vendor Management
  • Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with DDP suppliers and transportation services they utilize and ensure optimal service levels.
  • Negotiate DDP cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Regularly review partner performance and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide guidance and training to team members, ensuring alignment with URBN’s operational standards.
  • Collaborate with production, sourcing, and planning teams to support brand margin goals, speed-to-market initiatives, and supply continuity.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and executive leadership regarding transportation performance and risks.

  • Demonstrated success in managing on-time shipping performance and visibility platforms (TMS, WMS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience building and leveraging strategic business relationships with vendors, carriers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; advanced knowledge of Excel and transportation management systems.
  • Process improvement mindset with a track record of implementing operational efficiencies.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Works with a high sense of urgency, integrity, and accountability.
