Role Summary

The Nuuly Assistant Web Merchandiser is responsible for understanding the customer’s journey on the website and app and providing new, updated, clear and coherent paths for customers to explore while putting their boxes together and engaging with the website and app.  This person is also responsible for feeding back merchandising needs to the brand creative team and buying team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Achieve business objectives by delivering compelling trend pages and promotional assets in partnership with the Design team using a web-based content management system
  • Support associate merchandiser in briefing marketing and creative teams on monthly & seasonal product needs
  • Apply attributes to products to support filtering, search, and product discovery in line with customer mindset and fashion trends using a web-based catalog management system
  • Support Web Producer in setting up and publishing items in the product catalog prior to major launches
  • Interpret and react to analytics to optimize site performance
  • Manage site-wide product linking to drive conversion of featured items
  • Conduct regular on-site testing to ensure content is functioning properly; proactively identify and correct issues
  • Maintain awareness of competitive landscape to make recommendations for site updates
  • Assist in making social/email selects
  • Provide direction for campaign briefing process as well as briefing out to 3rd party curation service
  • Work closely with buying and planning team to understand Nuuly trends and global trends and how that can translate into briefing product needs for marketing & creative

Role Qualifications

  • Passionate about URBN brands, customers, and product
  • Interest in sustainability & circular fashion
  • Strong capacity for multitasking and working independently; adept at prioritizing and filtering feedback
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • 1-2 years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, web production, or related role is ideal, internship experience counts!
  • Experience with web-based content management system, catalog management system is a plus
  • Excel & Google sheet proficiency necessary
  • Strong fashion point of view, understanding of macro- and micro-fashion trends
  • Awareness of global ecommerce and re-sale sites with compelling and effective merchandising strategies
  • Some understanding of product life cycle in a fashion retail business
