Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking a Senior Director of Digital Analytics who will play a crucial role in leveraging data to surface insights that inform critical business decisions and help solve impactful business problems. In partnership with cross-functional teams your team will use data to uncover ways to provide optimized website conversion, identify trends and opportunities, improve customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value, and drive profit. Success will be through your ability to lead an analytical, action-oriented team that drives data-driven decision making and fueling business growth

Role Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy – (1) develop and communicate clear analytics strategies and initiatives that align with business impact and goals (2) lead a team and foster a culture of career development through skills, experience and exposure (3) prioritize effort based on business impact
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – (1) collaborate with marketing, merchandising, product and finance teams to inform data-driven strategies (2) Provide actionable insights, not simply reporting, that help inform decisions across multiple departments (3) Work closely with IT to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Data Analysis and Insights Generation – (1) Use data analysis tools and techniques to extract valuable insights from diverse data sets (2) Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to drive business decisions (3) Develop predictive models to optimize customer targeting, product merchandising and marketing priorities
  • Reporting, Insights & Visualization – (1) Audit, create and maintain reporting dashboards for key performance metrics (2) present concise insights and findings to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner (3)Ensure data visualizations are accessible and easily interpretable by non-technical stakeholders
  • Retention Strategy Development:  Develop and implement a comprehensive customer retention strategy to boost repeat purchases, loyalty, and CLV. Analyze customer behavior and segmentation data to refine customer journeys and lifecycle programs. Set key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of retention initiatives, like churn rates, repeat purchase frequency, and customer engagement. 
  • Customer Engagement and Loyalty Programs: Oversee retention programs, including SMS campaigns, email marketing, push notifications, and personalized offers. Use customer data and insights to create highly targeted, personalized communications that drive engagement. Oversee and enhance the loyalty platform technology. Develop strategies to grow retention channel databases, especially in SMS. 

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., statistics, economics, computer science)
  • Proven experience (10+years) in analytics, strategy and other data-driven decision-making roles within e-commerce or fashion industry
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of cross-functional partners
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce metrics and retail KPIs
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
  • A passion for managing great people and developing top talent
