Role Summary

 

Urban Outfitters is looking for an Apparel Design Intern to join us for the Summer. As a Print and Pattern Design Intern, you’ll support the design team in creating original prints, patterns, and surface designs for seasonal collections. You’ll contribute to trend research, concept development, and technical execution while gaining hands-on experience in the fashion design process from ideation to final product.

The URBN 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/1 through 8/7 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.  

 

Summer Internship Program Application Process:

    

1. Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills.  If there is a project component in the application (see below within role qualifications), it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.  This is due at the time of your application submission.

  

2. Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.   

  

3. Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.    

  

Applications will close at 5:00pm EST on November 3rd 2025. 

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the development of seasonal print and pattern concepts through mood boards, trend reports, and color stories. 
  • Create original artwork and repeat patterns using hand-drawing, painting, and digital techniques. 
  • Support the design team with CADs, print placements, and technical files for production. 
  • Help source inspiration, materials, and references for print development. 
  • Organize and maintain digital libraries of prints, patterns, and design assets. 
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, merchandising, and production. 
  • Conduct competitive research and trend analysis in the fashion and textile space. 

Role Qualifications

What We’re Looking For 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Surface Design, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in fashion, textiles, and print/pattern aesthetics. 
  • Proficiency with textile design software or hand-rendering techniques is a plus. 
  • Excellent eye for color, composition, and detail. 
  • Highly organized with strong visual communication skills. 
  • Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced creative environment.
