Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is looking for an Apparel Design Intern to join us for the Summer. As a Apparel Design Intern, you’ll assist in the design and development of seasonal collections, from concept to final sample. You’ll contribute to trend research, sketching, fabric sourcing, and presentation building, gaining hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of fashion design.

The URBN 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/1 through 8/7 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.  

 

Summer Internship Program Application Process:

    

1. Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills.  If there is a project component in the application (see below within role qualifications), it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.  This is due at the time of your application submission.

  

2. Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.   

  

3. Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.    

  

Applications will close at 5:00pm EST on November 3rd 2025. 

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations. 
  • Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages. 
  • Help source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections. 
  • Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives. 
  • Participate in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings with buying and production teams. 
  • Conduct trend and market research to support design direction and innovation. 
  • Assist in preparing line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials. 

Role Qualifications

What We’re Looking For 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in women’s fashion, youth culture, and the Urban Outfitters aesthetic. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with CLO 3D or similar software is a plus. 
  • Excellent sketching and visual communication skills. 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. 
  • Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn in a creative, fast-paced environment.
