Role Summary

As Collaborations Designer specializing in textiles, print, and pattern, you will execute, create and reinterpret, designs that unite Anthropologie with partner brands or artists. This role also requires versatility to design across additional home categories as needed. You’ll support the Collaborations team throughout all phases of product development, balancing creativity with an understanding of manufacturing processes and business goals. We’re looking for someone detail-driven, proactive, and adaptable—ready to grow and contribute within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Role Responsibilities

    • Creative Design & Execution:
    • Translate collaborator inspiration into finished designs, creating original artwork or product concepts across a range of mediums and styles that reflect both the collaborator’s vision and Anthropologie’s brand identity.
    • Bring a distinct point of view to each collection by contributing fresh product ideas and driving innovation. Proactively explore and apply new materials, techniques, and whitespace opportunities through a thoughtful, cross-functional, and strategic lens.
      • Demonstrate a solid understanding of textile construction, materials, and techniques across various categories.
      • Skilled at print and pattern layouts and manipulations.
      • Apply color theory principles to product design.
      • Ensure design package accuracy.
    • Product Development & Collaboration:
      • Partner with PD team to ensure accurate design briefs and alignment with vendor capabilities.
      • Assist in the creation of design documents, such as sketch decks and pitch decks.
      • Design with consideration for price points, business needs, vendor capabilities, and collaborator’s needs.
    • Process & Organization:
      • Deliver organized, precise, and polished presentations that effectively communicate ideas to cross-functional teams and leadership.
      • Deliver information promptly to ensure adherence to deadlines and prevent delays.
      • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
      • Maintain an organized and accessible design library and shared workspaces.

Role Qualifications

  • Business & Leadership:
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and vendor capabilities, developed through collaboration with sourcing and product development partners.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions.
    • Proactive and self-motivated, with a "what's next" attitude and a positive outlook.
    • Openness to clear and direct feedback, with the ability to implement changes effectively.
    • Ability to learn from mistakes quickly.
    • Understanding of the business, customer and competitive landscape.
    • Emerging leadership skills, with the ability to mentor assistant and associate designers from other teams.
  • Creative & Technical:
    • Proficiency in design software and tools.
    • Strong understanding of color theory and textile construction.
    • Ability to translate inspiration into original and commercially viable designs.
    • Developing presentation skills.
