Role Summary

The Free People Flats Photographer is a full-time position based at our home offices at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The Flats photographer is responsible for Flats of eCommerce Product Photography. The Flats photographer will work closely with the Flats Photography Manager to create streamlined practices and workflows for the team. Applicant must have a strong desire to constantly refine and improve creative output and produce high end still life photography, which is aspirational and on brand, enriching the customer experience online in order to drive direct sales.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work with Flats Photography team to produce impactful still life imagery for the FP website and Marketing Messages
  • Work with Flats Stylist team to ensure product is styled efficiently and correctly
  • Capture the functionality, features, textures, and finishes of individual products
  • Consistently produce compelling images within established standards keeping heavy attention towards composition, lighting, and color balance
  • Work closely with Art Director for editorial concepts and execution
  • Understand deadlines and schedules to manage high volume workflow in a fast pasted environment
  • Collaborate with Flats Photography Manager to ensure color accuracy of all Flats product photography
  • Work closely with the Flats Photography anager to streamline Flats Support responsibilities and practices
  • Maintain and organize photo equipment and cleanliness of studio
  • Willingness to work with web production, post production, and retouching teams to optimize photography asset handoffs
  • Work with Flats Photography team to create on-location Flats imagery
  • Capture Flats video assets
  • Stay current with photography and market trends to ensure imagery stays fresh and relevant

 

 

Role Qualifications

·       4-6 years of digital studio photography experience in an ecommerce studio preferred

·       Strong digital photography, still life, lighting, and compositional skills

·       A self-starter, with a strong sense of teamwork in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment

·       Expert Knowledge in both Color and Light Theory

·       Strong knowledge with both natural and studio lighting

·       Expert knowledge of Canon EOS, Photoshop, Bridge, Capture One Pro, and Mac OS
