Role Summary

We’re looking for someone truly excited about the Free People and FP Movement brands and are passionate about supporting and building upon how our core values are expressed and communicated both internally as well as externally. We believe strongly in starting from within and standing by what we are proud of and know our customer is also wanting to be in that conversation. This requires an exceptionally community centric mindset and experience managing external partnerships in order to increase our community’s greater impact. You have ideally academic but definitely working experience with nonprofits, B-corps, mission driven organizations and experience in environmental sustainability.

Role Responsibilities

Sustainability: Free People/ FP Movement Responsible product

  • Partner closely with sourcing and buying teams to understand where we are currently making an impact in sustainability and identify opportunities for future projects and goals.
  • Managing the process of classifying and identifying sustainable product across categories, closely collaborating with CSR and product teams to make sure our standards are clearly understood and rolled out accurately across our site, and eventually in store.
  • Collaborating actively with the URBN CSR Working Group to help us work towards greater URBN sustainability + impact goals (potential themes: packaging, raw material selection, waste reduction, recycling programs). You will also play a large part in contributing to our Impact Report through impact reporting and impact communication + storytelling.

Social Impact: Community Engagement, Nonprofit Partnerships + Volunteering

  • Managing and building upon our relationships with our nonprofit and impact partners, including but not limited to: Girls Inc, Sundance Institute, Mazzoni Center, Best Friends Animal Society, Philabundance, Festival, Mercado Global, Fabscrap, among others. You’ll partner closely with these organizations to create actionable impact, including mentorship + volunteering opportunities (we have a large program with Girls Inc including the creation of an FP sponsored wellness space, internal community trainings (we regularly partner with Mazzoni and Mercado Global), external advocacy campaigns, product donation opportunities, etc.
  • Continue to explore new opportunities in the nonprofit space to ensure we have substantial relevant impacts while building upon our current base.
  • Partner with NY/LA showrooms and EU teams to make similar connections within non-profit space with knowledge that we are a global brand.
  • Partner with Leadership and Development Manager on driving internal employee community engagement within these partnerships. We are excited to share our values internally and offer volunteer opportunities within. Continue to build upon and explore new volunteer opportunities overall.

Marketing Partnership: Including our customer and celebrating achievements

  • Managing impact focused communication and campaigns across our internal and external channels: on our Care FP page, throughout our site, in email, on our social media channels, in our stores, and internally within our community via newsletters and trainings, collaborating closely across teams to bring our impact to life. Work closely with marketing teams in throughout this process and identify large campaign opportunities each quarter.

Role Qualifications

  • Background experience and deep knowledge in product sustainability required; experience with marketing sustainable products and setting product-related goals and targets ideal.
  • Keen resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, lead and execute work through completion: ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations; leading a comprehensive corporate/non-profit partnership ideal.
  • Ability to think creatively; take risks and tackle everyday problems in creative and unique ways.
