Skills

  • Hand Rendering: Creates original motifs using hands-on techniques like drawing and painting.
  • Digital Design: Proficient in Adobe programs for layered design files, repeat prints, and placement graphics.
  • Technical Tools: Exposure to, or interest in, textile software such as NED for repeats and color separations.
  • AI Exploration: Experience with, or openness to, using AI tools for motif ideation, research, and development.
  • Color Management: Proficient in Pantone usage across creative development and technical application.
  • Communication Tools: Comfortable using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Zoom for collaboration.
  • Presentation: Clearly shares design ideas through visual storytelling and team presentations.

Design 

  • Trend Awareness: Stay informed on emerging print and pattern trends across art, design, and fashion.
  • Concept Application: Support seasonal print development aligned with overarching concepts and category direction.
  • Original Artwork: Create hand-drawn, painted, or digitally rendered motifs in a range of styles and sensibilities.
  • Color Usage: Apply seasonal palettes thoughtfully to create fresh, fabrication-appropriate color stories.
  • Print Repeats: Create seamless repeats that meet brand and product requirements.
  • Artwork Packages: Prepare files to meet color separation and screen specs while preserving design intent.
  • Assortment Support: Assist in building a cohesive and diverse seasonal print assortment.

Partnerships

  • Manager: Seeks feedback, clarifies expectations, and aligns on seasonal goals with openness and initiative.
  • Print Design Team: Shares inspiration and resources while contributing to collaborative creative development.
  • Print CAD + Development Teams: Communicates to support production-ready files and partners to understand timelines, techniques, and execution needs.
  • Color Team: Applies seasonal palettes using color tools in alignment with print concepts and assortment direction
  • Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborates with Concept, Design, Buying, and PD on seasonal trend and business goals.

 

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in print or the textile industry.
