Role Summary

The Free People Movement Associate Social Media Manager with 3-5+ years of experience to aid and grow our presence on TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts, lead social-first video content creation, and build compelling insight decks to inform strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how to translate trends into brand-right content across video platforms, has a strong editing eye, and enjoys turning data into actionable recommendations. You’ll have space to shape voice, tone, and performance on emerging and fast-moving channels.

This role is based in Los Angeles, CA

Role Responsibilities

TikTok, Pinterest & YouTube Shorts Ownership

  • Aid the team in the full content lifecycle across TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts — from proposed new strategies and creative development to publishing and post analysis

  • Produce and publish short-form video that is trend-aware, brand-right, and engaging across each unique platform

  • Monitor trends and propose agile content opportunities in real time

  • Act as platform expert for short-form video — staying ahead of features, algorithm shifts, and community culture

Video Editing & Content Production

  • Independently shoot, edit, and deliver mobile-first content for short-form video platforms

  • Utilize trending audio, transitions, motion text, captions, and platform-native effects to polish content

  • Collaborate with creative and influencer teams to bring larger campaign narratives to life in video-first ways

  • Maintain a content library of reusable clips, footage, and B-roll to support rapid editing needs 
  • Be present on set for all photoshoots to capture BTS, B-Roll, and Social Content
  • Collaborate with all members of the social team to brainstorm and create content across all social channels

Reporting & Recap Decks

  • Own weekly/monthly performance reporting across TikTok, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts

  • Build visually polished and insightful recap decks highlighting wins, performance trends, and next steps

  • Recommend content and strategy optimizations based on both quantitative data and qualitative observations

UGC Site Integration & Community Management

  • Work with influencer and paid social team to manage UGC carousel population on site

  • Have an eye for content curation to pull best performing imagery
  • Monitor and engage with comments, mentions, and DMs across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other social platforms in real time.
  • Proactively spark conversations, amplify UGC, and surface high-impact community content or messages to the broader team.

Role Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in social media, with a strong emphasis on short-form video content creation and channel management

  • Proven ability to ideate, shoot, and edit compelling content for TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts

  • Deep understanding of social-first storytelling, platform trends, and creator culture

  • Proficiency in editing tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Canva, and in-app editing suites

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort pulling insights from platform-native and third-party tools

  • Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail

Bonus: experience in fashion, wellness, or lifestyle verticals

 

This role is based in Los Angeles, CA. 

The wage range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000.  Wages are based on several factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, etc.

Pay Range

USD $70,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
