Role Summary

URBN is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support our cutting-edge data science and machine learning engineering teams as they develop groundbreaking digital experiences that are transforming retail innovation. Working alongside teams building predictive analytics, intelligent design capabilities, and data-driven solutions, you'll play a crucial role in organizing and streamlining the delivery of ML projects that empower innovation across URBN's portfolio.

 

This position offers the unique opportunity to facilitate advanced machine learning applications that optimize product design workflows and enhance decision-making for iconic brands like Urban Outfitters. You'll serve as the organizational backbone for teams pioneering next-generation retail concepts, ensuring seamless collaboration between data scientists, ML engineers, Product Management, and Engineering teams. As URBN continues to shape the future of retail through digital transformation, you'll be instrumental in translating complex business requirements into actionable technical deliverables that directly impact how millions of customers discover and engage with fashion.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and run scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement sessions, and retrospectives
  • Elicit and document detailed functional requirements
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure alignment of business requirements with technical implementation
  • Coordinate with Data Science and Machine Learning teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project milestones
  • Continuously improve processes and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and productivity

Role Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in product or Business Systems Analyst role for a product or platform that is data centric
  • Exposure to data science and machine learning concepts and practices
  • Experience working with Data Science and Machine Learning teams is a plus
  • Well-rounded experience delivering integrated software solutions with complex system architecture
  • Experience turning business objectives into functional requirements and feature specifications
  • Experience estimating and planning large initiatives with complex dependencies spanning multiple teams
  • Knowledge of project management processes within agile settings and experience working in Scrum delivery teams
  • Degree in computer science, business information systems or equivalent experience
