URBN iOS Software Engineer III

URBN is seeking a talented and self-driven iOS engineer to join our dynamic team. At URBN, our Mobile Engineering Team crafts and delivers top-notch iOS and Android applications for our major brands: Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People. Collaborating closely with product, user experience, and design teams, we create high-performing and innovative e-commerce solutions for our customers.

• Utilize Swift and iOS development skills to build new features and maintain apps that impact millions of users daily
• Collaborate with product owners and design teams to understand requirements and prioritize MVP features
• Contribute to architectural and design decisions, and effectively communicate technical challenges and solutions
• Develop reusable components with elegant, intuitive interfaces
• Break down features into manageable units, estimate release schedules, and work collaboratively with the team
• Engage in pair-programming and code reviews with fellow engineers
• Participate in code and design reviews, advocate for best engineering practices, and join weekly Mobile Team sessions
• Maintain a customer-focused approach, balancing trade-offs to deliver impactful software

• 2+ years of professional experience as an iOS engineer
• Proficient in Swift and iOS SDKs
• Skilled in developing and supporting native iOS apps
• Building UI components programmatically in code
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols and caching
• Familiar with GitHub for source control
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, MVVM, MVC, and iOS design patterns
• Knowledge of multi-threading, memory management, networking, caching, performance optimization, and security
• Agile methodology experience
• Familiar with Swift Package Manager for dependencies
• Experience with Accessibility, Localization, and Internationalization
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus Skills & Experience

• Experience in building iOS apps with SwiftUI
• Experience in retail and e-commerce
• Experience in developing in-store applications, such as POS systems, and working with various peripherals
• Interest in prompt engineering and emerging AI applications in software development
