The Anthropologie Senior Art Director will help shape and evolve the Maeve brand at Anthropologie. Reporting to the Creative Director and Executive Creative Director, this role is responsible for leading the 360° visual identity and photo direction across all touchpoints—site, e-commerce, email marketing, and social media. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a refined aesthetic and a deep understanding of fashion storytelling.
Develop and execute compelling campaign concepts that align with Maeve’s brand voice and business goals.
Partner with the Creative Director to conceptualize editorial photo shoots, including creating mood boards, directing casting, styling, hair/makeup, and location planning.
Create and maintain comprehensive visual guidelines for e-commerce, covering lighting, set design, color grading, image sizing, and cropping.
Collaborate closely with Creative Leadership to present and refine creative work, incorporating feedback and performance insights.
Lead visual research to stay ahead of trends, while evolving the Maeve identity with fresh, original ideas.
Manage a team of photographers, stylists, and post-production staff, ensuring image quality and creative cohesion across all channels.
Work cross-functionally with Studio Managers, Photography, and Post-Production to improve workflows and uphold high standards through every phase of content creation.
Drive innovative social content strategies that engage audiences and build brand awareness, particularly on Instagram and TikTok.
Lead cross-functional planning for major social campaigns, partnering with Merchandising and Marketing to align messaging and content across platforms.
Manage image selects and crop direction for Instagram grid posts in collaboration with the social and marketing teams.
6+ years of experience in art direction, design, or creative leadership within a fashion retail environment.
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, Keynote, and Capture One. Bonus points for experience with video editing, animation, 3D, or AR.
A sharp eye for visual storytelling, with the ability to blend artistic vision and commercial strategy.
Proven experience leading high-pressure photoshoots and managing on-set teams.
Deep knowledge of fashion photography, branding, and creative concepting.
Strong track record of creating and directing successful social media campaigns (TikTok, Instagram).
Process-driven with the ability to streamline workflows and implement scalable creative systems.
Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit, comfortable navigating across departments.
A proactive leader with a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for mentoring creative teams.
