Role Summary

 

URBN is looking for a Manager of Talent Analytics.  The role will sit in the Human Resources department at URBN and will lead a team of analysts in HR/Talent data analysis, including quantitative and qualitative research methods. The Talent Analytics function provides reporting, analysis, and insights to teams to support business needs, inform business decisions, and improve the overall employee experience at URBN.  

Role Responsibilities

Leadership 

  • Coach and develop the Talent Analytics team, including analysts and interns/co-ops 

  • Manage project intake and workload delegation, balancing business impact with project prioritization 

  • Foster strong collaborative partnerships across URBN  

Strategic Partnership & Service 

  • Partner with leaders across URBN to identify relevant research opportunities 

  • Partner with HR teams and business partners to understand their research questions, analytics needs, and business goals related to HR/Talent insights 

  • Consult on studies to measure the effectiveness of business and HR initiatives; support teams in defining, tracking, and analyzing relevant metrics  

  • Lead the Talent Analytics team to provide excellent service as the satellite reporting experts in HR; collaborate with HRIS team to ensure alignment and escalate requests as needed 

Data Analytics & Storytelling 

  • Extract and analyze data from multiple sources, such as HRIS, LMS, ATS, employee surveys, etc., for ad hoc studies and periodic executive reporting 

  • Design and develop comprehensive reports, presentation decks, and dashboards to present HR insights and trends to stakeholders, including senior leadership 

  • Facilitate dialogue among senior leadership to identify research questions, design appropriate studies, and understand findings 

  • Collaborate across analytics and technology teams to automate reporting and dashboard creation where possible 

Employee Listening Strategy 

  • Lead project/program management for URBN’s Employee Listening Strategy, including Engagement Surveys, Moments that Matter Surveys, Pulse Surveys, etc. 

  • Lead the team to conduct thorough analyses of employee surveys and related employee data; partner with stakeholders to contextualize findings 

  • Design compelling reports to provide insights to leaders across URBN 

  • Oversee administration and permissions within the company survey tool 

 

 

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, HR, related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Education and 5-7 years of experience working in research/data analysis, HR support; experience working in retail preferred 

  • Experience leading a team 

  • Unquestionable business and personal integrity; ability to handle confidential data 

  • Experience with relational databases, e.g., SQL, Qlik, IBM Cognos; intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLookup/XLookup, Pivot Tables, Macros) 

  • Experience with survey tools like Perceptions/Employee Voice, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, etc. 

  • Experience with UKG/Ultipro HRIS preferred 

  • Knowledge of analytic techniques and methods; experience with mixed methods research (quantitative as well as qualitative thematic analysis) 

  • Ability to tell compelling stories with data and visualizations 

  • Strong service orientation and social interaction skills 

  • Enthusiastic team player with an inclusive approach to their work 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adaptive to changing priorities 

  • High detail orientation
