Role Summary

The Senior Manager of Studio Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational efficiency of the studio, ensuring product and projects move through the studio in an organized mannerThey will be required to keep a high level of budget awareness, management and maintenance of physical studio and working spaces, as well as workflow tools and systems.  They will lead a Studio Management and Coordination Team and work cross functionally across the UO Brand to ensure a high level of execution of photo shoots and studio related projects. This role requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, ability to be flexible with change, and a mindset of constant improvement. 

Role Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise and support a Studio Management and Coordination Team.  Develop and coach your team for growthWork with studio leads in Creative, Photo, Styling, and Production to establish an inclusive and welcoming studio environment.  Maintain a solution-based mindset. 

Process Management: Evaluate and maintain efficient processes to ensure internal operations are seamless Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Production, and Photo teams to ensure the workflow aligns with studio and business needs Apply continuous improvement measures to address operational deficiencies that may arise. 

Scheduling: Partner with studio counterparts, to determine scheduling needs based on workload and budget allowanceBalance high efficiency while maintaining quality in meeting deadlines and deliverablesBuild a process for distributing necessary information for the studio teams in an easily accessible way.   

Space Management: Continually vet the studio spaces and make recommendations for better use of space and flowPartner with the facilities team to address any larger building/space needs and work orders. 

Budget Awareness: Maintain visibility to the studio budget and assist the Production team in spend management and reportingHave familiarity with expenses relating to equipment, supplies, and staffingSet processes and approvals for requests such as added shoots, reshoots, etc. that would potentially increase planned spend.  Work closely with production and finance team to build regular cost breakdown reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.   

Role Qualifications

Previous Experience: 5 years of experience in photo studio management, project management, or a related field3+ years managing a team. 

Location:  This is an on-site role at the URBN Home Office Studios located in Philadelphia PA 

Technical Knowledge: Experience using studio workflow tools requiredExperience using Shotflow preferredFamiliarity with digital camera EQ + lighting a plusProject management systems knowledge a plus.  Experience with product inventory management systems a plusFluency in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, etc. required.   

Financial Management: Proven ability to understand and manage large budgets and report on simple KPIs and efficiency measurements.   

Leadership Skills:Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.  

Project Management:Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize tasks effectively.  Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills is required. 

Communication + Collaboration: Provide positive, informative, and timely communication with teams and partners at all levels of seniorityBuild and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners.  Collaborate effectively across departments.  Represent the UO and Studio teams in a professional manner.  

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and foster a positive mindset through change. 

Assertiveness: Clearly and confidently express ideas, needs, and boundaries in a respectful manner.
