URBN Senior Business Systems Analyst- Tax Technology

URBN is looking for a hands-on, problem-solving Senior Business Systems Analyst- Tax Technology to support and enhance our tax compliance operations across North America, the UK, and the EU. This role will be the go-to expert for our Vertex tax engine, ensuring seamless integration with e-commerce, marketplace, rental retail stores, and financial systems. You’ll work closely with tax, finance, and technology teams to ensure smooth operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. • Own the Vertex tax platform, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with tax compliance requirements.
• Support the integration of the Vertex platform with e-commerce website and OMS, retail stores and Oracle EBS ensuring accurate and efficient tax calculations and reporting.
• Partner with the tax, finance, and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve tax system issues and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
• Perform thorough testing of tax-related system updates and enhancements, developing comprehensive test cases to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement in tax processes and technology usage.
• Document system configurations, workflows, and processes to ensure clear understanding and continuity.
• Provide ongoing training and support to tax and business users to maximize the utilization of the Vertex platform.
• Coordinate with the US and UK based technology team to ensure global tax compliance solutions are effectively adapted to regional requirements in the UK and EU.
• Stay informed on tax regulations and Vertex platform updates, ensuring timely implementation of necessary changes.

• 3-5 years of experience working with tax technology platforms, preferably Vertex Inc.
• Strong understanding of tax processes across e-commerce, retail, procurement, and finance operations.
• Experience with system integrations involving e-commerce platforms, OMS, and financial systems.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tax system issues.
• Familiarity with SQL and the ability to create and interpret scripts for troubleshooting and reporting.
