Role Summary

The Urban Outfitters Program Manager takes ownership of the calendar, communication, and coordination of the merchant and design teams to ensure we efficiently deliver the right product and at the right time/ quality outcomes. This role anticipates needs, connects dots, and elevates our calendar management by understanding cross-division leader timing while driving progress. 

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Calendar Management:Maintain and manage the master department calendar, ensuring all events, meetings, and deadlines are accurately scheduled and communicated. Own and manage the product calendar, ensuring all key dates and milestones are met. Anticipate potential issues and proactively address them to ensure all key stakeholders are present, enabling timely decisions and adherence to budget. 

 

Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all calendar-related inquiries and updates, ensuring proactive and clear communication. Establish a regular communication cadence to keep all stakeholders informed. 

 

Cross-Division Coordination: Collaborate with various divisions to understand their timelines and needs, ensuring seamless integration and alignment across the company. 

 

Initiatives: Lead and run point on key programs including digital strategy, go-to-market (GTM) process, and sample management. Assist in the planning and execution of key events, including meetings, conferences, and special projects. 

 

Meeting and Project Management: Drive projects to completion, ensuring accountability across all teams. Guide and coordinate efforts to achieve goals. Take ownership of meeting hygiene, including agenda creation and decision tracking. 

 

Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the merchant and design teams. 

 

Leadership: Build trust and professional relationships by communicating effectively and proactively with peers, team members, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Offer thoughtful feedback in a constructive manner. Represent the department and brand with integrity and authority. 

Role Qualifications

 

Education: Fashion or merchandising degree or equivalent experience desired.  

Experience: Proven experience in project management, preferably within the retail or fashion industry. 5 + years of experience in a buying role is preferred. 

Digital Tools: Proficiency in project management tools and software.
