Role Summary

The Still-Life Sample Coordinator helps facilitate the current look and feel of the brand through management of all studio samples throughout their lifecycle. They should possess an interest in the current brand identity as well as be aware of current trends within fashion, art, and design. Our work environment relies heavily on teamwork, and we are seeking someone who is an excellent communicator and works seamlessly with others. This position partners heavily with still-life styling, still-life photography, production, merchandising, and buying partners. The Still-Life Sample Coordinator should have creative problem-solving skills as well a strong work ethic, innate organizational ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the organization of samples in the studio and ownership over the sample closet for Accessories, Shoes, Intimates, Beauty, and Wellness.
  • Maintain a vast product knowledge of all studio samples.
  • Receive and check-in weekly Accessories, Shoes, Intimates, Beauty, and Wellness sample turns to the still-life styling team, as well as regular PR handovers.
  • Partner with merchandising to ensure that all received samples are correctly tagged and label any necessary priorities, reshoots, or relevant callouts.
  • Work closely with still-life stylists to divide samples into their appropriate sets for the week ahead, ensuring that all priorities are clearly marked and organized.
  • Create and distribute weekly sample counts to relevant studio members and merchandise partners.
  • Steam and prepare all newly turned samples for still-life photography.
  • Partner with still-life stylists daily to scan and create all set lists for the following day, ensuring that all ShotFlow records are accurate, and any related notes are clearly communicated within the corresponding Slack channel.
  • Ensure that all samples needed for the following day are neatly organized and prepped for photography.
  • Locate or order samples from the DC that are needed for upcoming creative projects in a timely way, maintaining up-to-date sample records within Asana.
  • Complete the weekly sample turn to the on-figure styling team as well as weekly returns to merchandising.
  • Regularly clean out any samples that are no longer needed by the still-life styling team, returning to the styling closet, DC, and/or facilitating their return to merchandising, buying, or marketing partners.
  • Facilitate regular monthly clean-outs of Beauty and Wellness samples with buyers.
  • Unpack suitcases or shipments that return from location shoots as needed.
  • Review weekly marketing lists for any outstanding needs.
  • Attend relevant weekly meetings with merchandise partners, still-life styling, photography, and studio teams.
  • Troubleshoot when samples are labeled and/or shot incorrectly.
  • Assist all studio members in printing any tags needed.
  • Help to maintain organization of props, supplies, and styling kits.
  • Assist still-life stylists with larger projects as needed.
  • Contributes ideas or solutions to help streamline or enhance the overall studio processes.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Fashion, Business, or a related field, or equal work experience.
