Role Summary

URBN is looking for a Credit and Collections Specialist; in this role you will be a key member of the growing URBN Wholesale Credit team. The role reports to the Credit Manager. Responsibilities support critical function for the Wholesale business, supporting growth initiatives for the brand while mitigating credit risk for the organization.  

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collections of outstanding invoices for wholesale goods (apparel) sold to department stores, off-price retailers, digital platforms, and specialty boutique businesses
  • Manage past due accounts thru use of AR reports and invoice data to minimize aged receivables
  • Contact Wholesale customers and AP Departments by email, phone calls and use of vendor portals
  • Verify payments and support payment inquiries; shipment tracking for delivery proof; research RTV’s, chargebacks and deductions
  • Partner with entire Credit Team and Cross Functional departments regarding status of accounts, engage in ongoing dialogue to ensure resolution of open issues and maintenance of contact and payment information
  • Document communication and promptly follow up to open items
  • Provide support for credit-line review of new and existing accounts
  • Perform credit investigations; process applications, obtain bank references and industry references
  • Utilize information gathered to recommend credit rating, limits, and payment terms for prospective new accounts
  • Review existing credit ratings and make recommendations for changes

Role Qualifications

  • High volume administrative or collection service experience, experience within business-to-business model a plus
  • Excellent communication skills- verbal and written; active listening skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills w/ specific attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize; heightened sense of urgency during peak times
  • Display high level of personal accountability and ownership of work; works independently and problem solves
  • Microsoft Office, SLACK, ZOOM
  • Excellent working knowledge of EXCEL - including sorting and filtering data & utilizing pivot tables
  • Experience w/ CGS Blue Cherry a plus
  • Experience in retail, wholesale, distribution, and/or apparel a plus
  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree or Commensurate Experience
