Role Summary

URBN is seeking a highly motivated Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team. This team protects URBN from cyber threats and attacks. This role works with URBN employees and technology teams to build capabilities that prevent, detect, and respond to security incidents. We are looking for a person that enjoys learning and mastering new technologies, and who is passionate about Information Security.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect enterprise networks, systems, and data.
  • Develop and manage cloud security strategies to protect cloud infrastructure and data. Implement best practices in identity management, encryption, network security, cloud detection and response, and compliance monitoring across multi-cloud environments. Work with DevOps teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline and maintain automated security controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into development, deployment, and operational workflows.
  • Builds resilient security platforms/services with strong monitoring and alerting with an emphasis on automation for operational processes and orchestrating workflows.
  • Partner with other teams to conduct risk assessments and design mitigation strategies for new projects and technologies.
  • Participates in the creation of roadmaps for current/future security capabilities.
  • Stay current with emerging security technologies, trends, and threats, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in security architecture and incident management.

Role Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience and expertise with security technologies (e.g. SIEM, SASE, IDS/IPS, firewalls, WAFs, EDR, Cryptography, configuration and vulnerability management, penetration testing, PKI) and cloud security tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in information security engineering, with a strong focus on security architecture, incident response, and threat detection.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of security principles, concepts, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with one or more major cloud service provider (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Industry certifications a plus: (e.g. CISSP, CCSP or industry-recognized / vendor-specific security certification)
