Role Summary

Anthropologie is looking for a Temporary Merchandise Assistant who will support the daily operational functions and train with Merchandise Assistant within your designated buying area; support the buying team in managing the overall merchandise flow. You will also learn to develop key cross functional relationships with both the market and internal partners: distribution center, design, and production. The MA is also responsible for partnering with the Merchandist Assistant, Buyer and/or Associate Buyer on all necessary tasks.

Role Responsibilities

Samples

  • Open all packages and distribute to the appropriate Buyers for review
  • Organize all sample areas and keep tidy (team area, desk, shelves, etc.)
  • Manage and set up samples for all style outs and other meetings
  • Call in any missing samples from vendors or request from production via sample log
  • Organize and file all vendor catalogs.
  • Work with Buyer and/or Associate Buyer to request appropriate number of samples for web turnover, press previews, and other meetings
  • Pass all samples to the Product Coordinate team with completed Product Information sheets weekly
  • Support in sample set up and clean up for all product review meeting

Mail and Email

  • Check all mailboxes and distribute mail twice daily and distribute to the appropriate team member for review
  • Drop inter office mail off in mailroom
  • Answer all emails promptly and in an organized fashion
  • Run reports every Monday morning for Buyer and Associate Buyer

 

Role Qualifications

  • Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a sense of urgency
  • Effective relationship building skills and ability to work cross functionally
  • Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm to learn various aspects of the retail business and creative thinking
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a retail environment
