Role Summary

Urban Outfitters brand is looking for a graphic design intern to join us for the Summer. This intern would focus on supporting the design leads and art directors in creating and producing marketing material for digital and print assets.

The URBN 2025 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/2 through 8/8 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.  

 

Summer Internship Program Application Process:

    

  • Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills.  If there is a project component in the application (see below within role qualifications), it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.  This is due at the time of your application submission.

  

  1. Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.   

  

  1. Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.    

  

Applications will close at 5:00pm EST on November 4th 2024. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Work across 3 teams within the art department that cover all digital marketing, print marketing, internal presentations and production of Urban Outfitters content to understand the full scope of graphic design at Urban Outfitters
  • Learn our brand guidelines and template systems as well as our project management tool, Asana
  • Adapt our hybrid schedule being in the office Tuesday-Wednesdays and attend weekly meetings to cover project status updates
  • Assist digital design team leads covering the following projects as needed: email marketing, paid ads, site content, campaign content, promotions, production of assets and templating.
  • Assist brand design team leads covering the following projects as needed: retail signage, retail promotions, campaign + event content, product packaging, label production
  • Assist internal brand projects and operations team as needed: print production and collating for store signage, internal decks, ad hoc creative

Role Qualifications

  • Passionate about design, typography, art and culture
  • Currently in a graphic design program
  • Ability to multitask with an awareness for timing and urgency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative, and responsive
  • Ability to problem solve and follow art direction
  • Working knowledge of Apple, Adobe Suite and Figma

Project Requirement: 

In addition to your application and resume, to be considered for this role please submit a Design Project (8.5 X 11 PDF format is preferred). Once you complete your project, please upload it to the additional documents section in the application process. 

  • Create a design (site layout, store signage, set of posters, animated webpage, suite of branding or marketing materials, etc.) that demonstrates your creativity and understanding of the brand culture, voice & aesthetic.
  • Explain how/why this idea fits in with our brand, and how it would function. How would you help us create a stronger visual and conceptual relationship between all the different channels of our brand?
